Texas Sports Weekly is a commercial free source for news and commentary about Texas sports and the world of sports in general. There are no sponsors. There are no ads. Only fast-paced sports commentary each and every week.
TSW is a podcast and podcasts put the power in the listener's hands. When you turn on the radio, you have to listen to whoever and whatever they have on. Podcasts are radio on the listener's schedule. Listen to TSW in the car or when you work out. Pause it when you want. Back up to whatever point in the show you want. "Did Ross just say that?" Back it up and listen again.
The Daily Texan ran a piece on Texas Sports Weekly and the proliferation of podcasts entitled: "Podcasting A Convenient New Medium Transforming Sports".
Sports is entertainment. Sports is emotion. As the host of TSW, Ross Lucksinger brings both the fun and emotion of sports to each show.
Ross was born on May 27, 1982 to Mike and Sally Lucksinger. At the age of 3, Ross and his family moved to Burnet to live and work at Camp Longhorn, Indian Springs. Growing up in small-town Texas, Ross lived and breathed high school football. When Burnet would go on the road, the entire town emptied. Sports was also a part of his life at home. His Grandfather is Tex Robertson, former University of Texas swimming coach and founder of Camp Longhorn. Ross would constantly go to University of Texas games in all sports to soak up the experience.
Ross graduated from the University, with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Sports Journalism focus.
